Representatives of the Securities Commission attended the first international conference on the capital market in Montenegro, titled "Montenegro Financial Markets," held in Podgorica from October 16 to 18, 2023. The conference, consisting of 6 panels, gathered 43 eminent speakers, experts from around the world and the region, and over 350 attendees.
The Chairman of the Securities Commission, Marko Janković, participated in the conference as a speaker on the panel titled "Government and Capital Markets - Friends or Frenemies."
On this occasion, he presented the Commission's previous results regarding the creation of a regulatory framework related to the capital market in the Republic of Serbia, as well as future plans, emphasizing the necessity of continuing fruitful cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and other relevant institutions.
Additionally, the Chairman of the Commission highlighted the necessity of dialogue with market participants to create a quality investment environment.
Mr. Janković outlined the key points of the Strategy for the Development of the Capital Market in the Republic of Serbia, emphasizing the necessity of education in this domain.
Finally, the President concluded that Serbia is on the right path towards developing the capital market, expressing great optimism regarding the future development of this important economic segment.
