The newly-elected Chairman of the Republic of Serbia Securities Commission, Mr Marko Janković, participated in the Executive Working Lunch hosted by the United States Securities Commission, at the invitation extended by the U.S. SEC Commissioner Ms Hester M. Peirce. Mr Janković is attending the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission 29th Annual International Institute for Securities Market Growth and Development in Washington.
In the course of this formal occasion, the topical issues from both jurisdictions have been discussed. Both parties agreed that it is necessary to respond to the considerable, growing challenges both regulatory authorities are facing. The mutual aspiration to deepen cooperation between two regulators was expressed, and the option of development of a technical assistance support program by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission was discussed, in order to implement the experience of the most developed capital market, in the Republic of Serbia.
This year, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission 29th Annual International Institute for Securities Market Growth and Development hosted 186 delegates from 69 countries.
The program at the Institute will offer an opportunity to hear from the U.S. SEC’s experts on a wide variety of subject matters, and presentations from staff at the World Bank, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
