On march 27, 2025, the Securities Commission hosted a workshop dedicated to the European Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), organized by the Commission with the support of the PLAC IV Project.
Given the planned full alignment of domestic legislation with the European Union acquis in the field of digital assets, the Commission, within the framework of the PLAC IV Project, initiated the preparation of a compliance analysis of the Law on Digital Assets with the MiCA Regulation.
The workshop was led by Ms. Sanja Vojak, an expert from Croatia, who presented the results of the gap analysis and highlighted the differences between the current Serbian legal framework and the MiCA Regulation. A significant number of questions from participants focused on the regulatory framework applied in the EU, particularly in Croatia as a neighboring country, with a general conclusion that Serbia is not lagging behind in this area.
In addition to representatives of the Commission’s management and professional staff, the team leader and legal expert of the PLAC IV Project also attended the workshop.
